What kind of update are you talking about?
Running a One Step Update to update/download transactions?Installing a patch aka software update when prompted from within Quicken?More details, please.-1 -
Just a regular one step update. Thanks0

Come on. Don't keep us in suspense. Tell us more. What's the problem during One Step Update?

When quicken says update available, I go to update and I start the update. It comes up with error. So, I have to go to mondo patch and update from there….0

I don’t know what the error is right now. But I can’t continue with update. I will write the error down next time. Then I will get back to this question0

A - Quicken software update with a new RELEASE
B - Quicken One Step Update for updating accounts, quotes, downloading transactions

Lol. I didn’t know there was a difference. I think it is software update with new release.0

Same problem. Started about 4 months ago. The error is "The process cannot access the file 'C:\ProgramData\Quicken\Inet\Common\patch\quickenPatch\w494\base\RPMMigration\MigrationTool.exe' because it is being used by another process." The fun part is the process identified will change whenever you attempt to rerun the update. You can reboot and try again; same issue. You can ensure all processes not running at startup are stopped and you get the same thing. You can go looking for the file identified, it's not there. You rerun the update - and you get the same error, different process. The only thing that works is to run the Mondo Patch update. Been using Quicken since 2002 and never seen anything like it. ANyone else? I am running Quicken on Windows 11 Home version 22H2.0

Is it up to date?If you are getting this error message when trying to update Quicken from within Quicken, try disabling your anti-virus program first, then install the update. Turn the anti-virus program back on when the installation is completed.

Thanks - I did catch that and thought I had turned off (It's Trend Micro - yes recently updated). But, I can't swear to it right now. Will try with the next patch release when it comes out (I just updated with the Mondo patch yesterday) and be less on autopilot. Appreciate the comment and reminder.0

Latest Update: Successful update to R45.7 without using the Mondo Patch. I am using Trend Micro for antivirus and did not have to completely shut off - simply turn off the "Folder Shield" (which allows you to specify certain folders for additional security measures). Left on all the other AntiVirus (scanning for malware, etc.) and the update applied automatically. Thanks for the help and guidance.1
