Change file name after backup(?)

After the recent conversion, my BOA accounts only downloaded data from ca. Aug 24. I was able to restore the earlier data from a backup, which I named "restored" in case of major snafu. All worked fine and my data matches the online data now, but do I need to rename the file and, if so, to what name?

You can name or rename files to anything you want.  I think the default name is QData.qdf.  The backup files end in .qdf-backup but is the same as the regular .qdf file.  You can change the name in Quicken or in Windows explorer directory.

I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.

I renamed my QDF file because I like to have the current year in the name. After the rename, the Quicken name in the File menu still has the old name. When I clicked on it I got a popup asking if I wanted to delete the name but it didn't do anything.

Back in the day that information was in an INI file that could be edited.

You can just double click on the renamed data file, and it will be added to the File menu. Select the old file name to remove it from the File menu.
