Chase new connection and downloading errors + crash

I "reauthorized" my Chase accounts [credit cards + checking]. When I downloaded transactions, my current checking account balance was reported as NEGATIVE $500+K. Obviously, that is quite inaccurate; it should have been somewhere in the POSITIVE $5-10K range. I did not save that session, closed quicken, tried it again, and got the same result. And I did the same again, another day, same result.

To add to the mess, when I tried to enter a transaction, the register expanded in a pop out window, which didn't fit, and all attempts to change that were to of no avail, i.e., Quicken crashed.

So, I am left with no ability to download transactions from Chase. Hopefully this can be fixed in short order.

    Hi @ThomasEovaldi

Restore your last Manual Backup file, before the conversion.

Then Deactivate all Chase Registers in the Restored File.

     Close and reopen Quicken.

Click File > New Quicken File > Dot New Quicken Account. Click OK.

    Click the Chase Icon.

You will see this screen, when not all Chase Registers are connected.

Follow the instructions after clicking Sign in.

Once completed, the Browser Window, should close. And the Quicken Window should link to the existing Registers. Check before closing the Window.

    Report Back.

Please Note: Chase Support states that you don't need to Deactivate the Registers. When you don't, you have problems.

I solved my problem by (1) opening Quicken with the previous backup [prior to the problem], (2) downloading all transactions from accounts other than Chase, (3) correcting the Chase opening balance [the only incorrect item in the problem download], (4) downloading from Chase. All downloads from Chase have been correct after doing those steps. Thanks to Quicken staff for their suggestions, even though I did not have to follow them. Tom
