Why is Quicken Changing transaction from Categorized to Uncategorized?

I've looked at some of the dicussions but find no answers re: Q-Mac. I have confirmed that my preferences are set to sync = off. About two months ago this started when a large number of transactions over many days went to uncategorized. I updated them again, did a back up, logged out and back in and it happened again Restoring the back up did not work. This looks clearly like a programming issues but Quicken seems quiet on the topic
