Is There a Way to Adjust ----TOTAL---- Securities Balance?

We've used Quicken (Windows) for 25 years.

Some investment accounts always show a much different TOTAL value for all securities than our statements show.

I know how to adjust Cash balance, but is there a similar way to adjust the TOTAL value of securities? (We do frequent quote downloads, and the quotes are correct.)

We can't go back and adjust a quarter century of transactions individually.

Thanks for any advice!

Alan

@GreensboroAlan - are the share balances correct? is that the issue?

first thing I'd do is repair and validate the file.  (file > repair and validate

    2nd thing I'd do:

go to tools>online center >holdings tab and then click 'compare to portfolio'

THOSE are the share differences that require correction. Just "add" or "remove" a transaction for EACH security to get them back in balance.  The cost basis will not be accurate, but if these are IRAs, it doesn't matter in any event.

if that is not the problem, is it possible you have inadvertantly hidden a security?

    Thank you, Mark!

I did not see your reply till just now, sorry.

I just did the "Compare," and now the IRAs are reconciled.

Thank you for taking the time to help. I've used Quicken for over 25 years, but you taught me something new!

    Thanks again,

    Alan
