I have been manually inputting transactions. I want to stop this time consuming practice! I decided to connect to one of my bank accounts (as a test) and many of the transactions that I have already manually inputted have been duplicated as a result downloading the bank data into my Quicken register. This resulted in throwing off my balance I would like to download transactions from all my financial institutions to Quicken; however, I am hesitant to proceed.
Is there anyway to download only new data that has not been manually inputted into the register (is there a way of setting or communicating a requested date range upon initial set-up?

Not the first time. It will get as much as the bank allows. Then it should be ok. You will have to clean up and delete the duplicates.
I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.

What bank or banks ?
Most will download about 90 days worth of transactions. Quicken can't easily tell the difference between the downloaded transactions and manual entries.... so you will get duplicates. After that, if you stick with the Quicken One Step Update online downloads, all will be ok...
