Quicken always crashes when updating account (solved)

I have R44.27 on Windows 11. This is a new problem, just after installing the update that auto-applied today. I have 2 accounts that I can no longer update because Quicken crashes in the middle of the process -- Windows pops up its "Quicken Windows has stopped working" message, the only option is "Close Program."

I tried doing the data file repair but it didn't help. Any troubleshooting guidance?
