American Century Brokerage unable to connect
zot100
My American Century Brokerage account which has been working for years is now saying that it can not connect to the internet. All my other accounts including American Century Retirement accounts all update properly.
I have attempted to reset it, fails with the same message.
Delete Access and Activate from the account's 'Online Services' tab - Fails with the same message
Add Brokerage account using the "+" sign as suggested in other posts - Fails with the same message.

Hi
@zot100
Can you tell us the exact wording of the error message, and or the code (like OL-294)?

I have had the same issue. Initially, it showed an error code of OL-297 saying it couldn't connect to the internet. However since I have more than a dozen other accounts including American Century retirement accounts that all update properly in the One Step update, that seems to be a placeholder error message. If there is an internet issue, it's on the other side.
I don't use a VPN.
I attempted to reset the account several times with no change.
I then Deactivated the online access. When I attempt to reconnect and after I enter my user ID and the last 4 of my SSN as requested, I get the following error message. "Sorry, We encountered an error. ( It's not your fault )"
I worked through this with Quicken Support by creating a fake Quicken data file and trying to add the account to that new file. Unable to connect with the same results. I was able to connect a different and unrelated account in this fake data file without any issues.

Did you install Windows 10 or 11 Security Updates for October?
If so, there's a problem which can be fixed by installing yet another Windows Update.
