OL-297-A - TIAA downloading error

When updating my accounts TIAA continually comes up as an error OL-297-A apparently unable to obtain an internet connection? Everything else updates with the occasional exception but TIAA has been consistently not updating. Anyone else having this issue or know a fix? I'm able to log into TIAA no problem. Appreciate any input, thanks

Hi Anja,
I went to the link followed all instructions, TLS 1.2 was checked tried update again still same error. I never signed up for bill payment on any of my accounts. Went to the problem account used "actions gear" -> update now ->went to manage passwords indicated password stored stated "yes" (there have been no pswd changes on this account) went to change password to double check all was good, now hit update and it updated. BUT wait went outside account to One-Step Update settings only selected the problem account hit update now and then got the error again OL-297-A.0 -

Thank you for letting us know how things turned out. I do apologize that this issue is continuing, even after earlier troubleshooting recommendations.
If all of the relevant steps were utilized from the previous Support Article, I recommend reaching out to TIAA support in regards to this matter. It can often be most helpful to request to speak with a 'Tier 2' agent or escalations team when doing so, as these specialists often possess more knowledge about third-party software, such as Quicken, and their abilities to document these issues may be required.
I hope that is helpful.
Thanks,

Thank you so much Jared but why am I left to resolve an issue with an account?? I've been a premier customer for many years, not that it should matter, but isn't it Quickens job to resolve issues with all the various interactions with all the possible accounts and once resolved then provide updates?

Hi, This issue continues I chatted with TIAA and was told there were no issues on their end nor any complaints from other clients. They recommended I clear all cache, history, cookies etc., which I did the issue remains. Directly following the chat and clearing history I sent Quicken another "report a problem" from a failed update but have yet to hear any reply. Would appreciate some help here, as originally stated this issue, at the time, had been fairly recent but unfortunately persists. I have several TIAA accounts, this error seems to only appear on my Brokerage Account this information was discussed with TIAA as well, they state there are no issues on their end.0

Yep, same here, OL-297-A on TIAA and a CC-503 error on another account. It isn't you, its Quicken. These things keep coming back, again and again. They will fix them for a few months and then they come back. Frustrating that a system will work and then somebody will do something on the Quicken end and break things again; and we are paying a subscription for this. I'm border line leaving Quicken, but having pulled the plug, yet. Well Jared, it isn't just leggo's problem, there are more of us.0

What version of Windows are you using?
If you're on Windows 10, Installing KB5020435, the updated version of the October security patch, fixed the problem.
A similar update applies to Windows 11.

Thanks MVW for the additional information and confirmation
UKR, thank you for the input. I have windows 10 and all updates available through Microsoft for my OS, I checked my update history and do not see the specific update to which you refer, however the issue remains. I did go to Microsoft Update Catalog and found nothing compatible. I changed my pswd in both my vault and TIAA, I renamed my account in Quicken the match exactly what TIAA indicates, not that I thought either of those steps would do anything but I'm trying to resolve the issue. I look forward to any assistance that can be provided. BTW, just tried updating just the problem account prior to posting this and now am getting OL-303-A.... ugh!!!0 -
I called TIAA, who told me to uninstall KB5018410 which is the 2022-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 21H2 for x64-based systems, which I did, and this resolved OL-297-A. They also told me to install KB5020435 which I gather is a fix for the other Cumulative Update, but I couldn't figure out how to do that. I did have a pending Cumulative Update for 2022-11 (KB5019959, and a couple 2022-11 .NET Updates, so I installed those. Everything is still working. I do have a pending Feature update to Windows 10, version 22H2, which I'll get to later.0
