Generate 1099

Question

I expected that the Home, Business, and Rental Property version would have the capability of generating a 1099 for a couple of our contractors -- but I can't find it anywhere. Can it do it for me?

Yes the Turbo Tax Home & Business desktop program and the Online Self Employed version can prepare W2 and 1099NEC forms.

You need to give a 1099NEC to anyone you paid $600 or more to for the year. But not to corporations or for merchandise. You send the IRS a copy of the 1099Misc with the transmittal summary form 1096. These are due to the person by Jan 31 and to the IRS by Jan 31 also.

Sorry, Quicken does not generate 1099s, but, AFAIK, the H&B version of TurboTax does create W-2 and 1099 forms. Please check with your tax software support if they can do it and how that's done.
