@ecnealrph -   there is no magic...
steps to "connect the dots" ...
For Quicken desktop - you've setup your Checking Account ?
Are you downloading transactions via One Step Update - or entering manually ?
Have you enabled Quicken Cloud SYNC ?
Have you selected your Checking Account
to be made available in Quicken Mobile App and Quicken on the Web ?
[EDIT] - also updated topic title to better reflect the actual Q&A

There might be another answer to this question depending on what was meant.

Let's say that you have your accounts setup for Syncing to Mobile/Web, and they are setup for downloading of transactions.

The Quicken server will periodically download new transactions from the financial institution(s) into the Quicken cloud dataset.  The Quicken cloud dataset is what Quicken Mobile/Web are displaying.  It also syncs with the Quicken data file.  Note that if one has updated on the Quicken Desktop data file and got the new transactions, and in between the Quicken server has got the same transactions and put them in the Quicken cloud dataset, the sync should understand that they are the same and not duplicate them.

Now Quicken Mobile/Web only work in an automatic transaction entry mode.  They don't have something like the Quicken Windows Desktop's "Downloaded Transactions tab" for accepting the transactions into the register.  So, if by "automatically posted" you mean will the transactions go directly into the register without any input on your part, the answer is yes that is what will happen.

Yes … if everything has already been setup for Quicken Mobile access … then the mobile app is merely a window into your bank current checking account transactions without any other actions.
