Quicken software update changes transactions

Almost every time I download the most recent update, my transactions are either erased or changed. This happens to my Credit cards, investment and bank transactions. This is very frustrating as I have been using Quicken for years.

    Hello @Bev Gould

I am sorry to hear about this problem with online banking services. Thank you for looking to the Quicken Community for assistance.

Are you noticing this problem with accounts associated with a particular financial institution? If so, which one? If multiple financial institutions seem to be affected, save a backup by going to File > Copy or Backup File... in the upper menu at the top of the screen and proceed through the instructions provided below, in order:
    1. Navigate to File
    2. Select Validate and Repair File...
    3. Select Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.

If you are still noticing difficulties after you have attempted those recommendations, you may try the following:

    1. Navigate to File
    2. Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
    3. Select Super Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
I look forward to hearing about your results.

    Thank you,

    Quicken Jared

Please do make sure that you only select the software update immediately after you have started Quicken and NOT after you have been working on your transactions and made multiple changes.
Also, do be sure to set your Backup Preferences to enabled and to create Automatic and Manual Backups every [1] times you close Quicken.
An alternative to selecting updates when prompted from within Quicken is to download and install the US or Canada Mondo Patch file applicable to your version of Quicken from https://www.quicken.com/support/update-and-mondo-patch-20182019-release-quicken-windows-subscription-product.

This happens with multiple financial institutions. MFS, Merrill Lynch, Vanguard, and Merck EFCU. I usually do the update immediately after I open Quicken. Many times I find that transactions that were already downloaded get changed.
