Why do I have missed bill payments

I have been a Quicken user for a very long time - at least 20 years. The last couple of years have been more than frustrating with the constant bill payment options changing. I have a late fee just about every month as one of my bills did not actually get paid as scheduled. This is more than frustrating.
Are we ever going to see a reliable version?

Are we ever going to see a reliable version?I would answer your question with "most likely not". At least not with Bill Pay thru Quicken. Why? That's because many banks are migrating away from allowing Online Bill Pay through third party aggregators like Intuit and Quicken. For security reasons, they say.
That means, when your bank changes their procedures, you will have to make some changes.Alternatives:
- Use Quicken Bill Manager's Check Pay
- Logon to the bank's website and make your bill pay payments from the bank. In parallel to that, in Quicken use a regular Scheduled Reminder to record your payment.
- Logon to the biller's website
and set up their Autopay, APS, Direct debit, etc. to make the current
payment and all future payments on Due Date by directly withdrawing from your checking
account. In parallel to that, in Quicken use a regular Scheduled Reminder
to record your payment. This will also help avoid late fees and missed payments.
- Write (or print with Quicken) a paper check and mail it to the biller, making sure to mail payment early enough (around 10 days before due date) to allow time for delivery and processing.
I've been using a variation of method #3 for decades, since before the Internet and dial-up were even invented. It's easy to get used to this process. And I have yet to miss a single payment.

I was using the double entry #2 awhile ago - then discovered that Chase could handle transactions directly from Quicken for bill payment... it was great - did the Quicken Reminder and the "online" setup - all was good....
Then Chase went with EWC+ BAM... bill payment interface gone.ok - now back to the old double entry #2 -
works fine, just more work and you have to keep track that you actually went to the bank online website for the bill payment....0 -
It was so nice when it worked.0
