As of 12/3/2022 the process of downloading a transaction history via the "Quicken QFX" is not working for me. It downloads a file, but Quicken can't use it. In looking at the contents of the file, it is an html document.0

Hi @John Colquhoun
What is the extension on the file that you downloaded? Is is "filename.QFX" or something else?

Hey @Frankx
The file extension is a *.QFX but it is not really a Quicken file. When I open the "QFX" file it is an HTML file. In fact, if I change the file extension to *.html it opens in a web browser and looks like a web page in progress.0 -
Hi again @John Colquhoun
That is very strange. I have never heard of a user downloading a *.QFX file from a legitimate source and then finding that it was actually a *,html file. I would believe that such a thing could never happen when dealing with a legitimate financial institution's website. But I guess I am wrong about that.
I would strongly suggest that you contact the financial institution and tell them what happened, so they can look into it.

I have been having this same issue with the .QFX file containing HTML instead of OFX format on the JPMorgan Retirement website (https://retirementlink.jpmorgan.com/).
I think the HTML script was being used to get the data from their contracted data provider, but something is either wrong with the script or the data provider. I have called them about 6 or 8 times in the past few months. I have provided sample files for them to pass on to their IT team.
The customer service team keeps telling me they are working on it, but each time I call I have to explain the issue all over again to the representative that takes my call. It is obvious they have no technical knowledge about either HTML or OFX (not their fault if not trained). My last call was 2 days ago. I asked if they could just get IT to provide a .CSV dump of all my transactions that they still have, and I can take it from there. I don't really believe they will do that for me, but one can hope.
This morning, the Quicken Download link has gone missing from their Transaction History page. I don't know if that means they are working on it, or they just decided not to provide it anymore. Their data provider is/was Great-West Financial. You can search fidir.txt for 03862. When the OFX was being formatted correctly, their FI information appeared as follows in the file:<FI><ORG>GWRS</ORG><FID>3862</FID></FI>
My company is moving to a new provider in January, so maybe they will support Quicken. For now, I have been entering transactions manually, which have to be downloaded and scrubbed one at a time.

@imdcareys - Great Western and Empower are the same company (changed name to Empower some years ago) . if their data provider is great-western, see:

did your problem begin after November 26?

@Mark1104 No, the first time I noticed was August 25th.
Thanks for that link .
Emails I have received from support have come from empower.com so I knew they were the ones doing support for JP Morgan. The last comment there is also what I saw happen on JP Morgan RetirementLink this morning. Sad, that it looks like they won't have a fix until February.
