Currently have Quicken Deluxe; Wanted to purchase Quicken Starter as gift.
Can both be installed on same desktop without uninstalling the Quicken Deluxe?

No, there can only be 1 Quicken installation. The Quicken software is the same for all versions. It's the Quicken ID that determines what version you're subscribed to. Why do you want to have both Deluxe and Starter on the same computer if you're purchasing Starter as a gift?

As stated by Greg_the_Geek, there can only be one instance of Quicken installed on a Windows computer.
You could however switch back and forth between Deluxe and Starter by going to Edit->Preferences->Quicken Id and login as a different user to change which edition of Quicken is being used since it is determined by the logged in Quicken Id.

If you are going to do this, create a dummy Quicken .QDF data file (it doesn't need any accounts) and always do the Quicken Id switch while that data file is open so that the Starter and Deluxe data file's registered Quicken Id is never changed.
So, a sequence would be like this:
    1. Using Deluxe with the Deluxe file using the Deluxe Id
    2. Open open the dummy, transition file
    3. Change the Quicken Id to the Starter Id
    4. Open the Starter file (no conflict since Quicken Id is Starter)
    5. Do your updates
The idea is to ONLY do the Quicken Id change while the dummy data file is open.

-splasher using Q continuously since 1996
    - Subscription Quicken - Win11 and QW2013 - Win11

And why buy Starter?  Starter is very limited and if you don't renew it each year you are locked out and can only view your data.  If you don't renew Deluxe or higher you can still use your data manually.  If you just need another separate data file you can set up a new data file in your existing Deluxe. You can have many different data files.  Go up to File-New Quicken File.

I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.
