Keep account separate but don't hide on sidebar

Running Quicken Mac Premiere 6.10.2. I want to keep an account separate from reports, but I still want to see it in the sidebar. When I toggle keep separate [but not hide account], it also hides the account from the sidebar. Is there a way around this?

Thanks!

When you make the account Separate, you should see Separate Accounts at the very bottom of the left sidebar, under the Net Worth total.

Here's a screenshot with all the major groups collapsed, to show where you'll see Separate Accounts at the bottom:

Click the ">" to expand Separate Accounts to show the accounts in this section in the sidebar.

To add to @jacobs answer, there's a preference that controls whether Separate accounts are displayed in the sidebar. If you make an account separate but don't see Separate Accounts at the bottom of the sidebar, go into Quicken preferences and on the Sidebar tab check the box to display Separate accounts.
