validation finds an account that doesn't exist

I was dealing with very slow performance and followed some advice to "validate" the file (>>FILE>>Validate and Repair/validate) and each time it was run it comes up with a odd message. It claims "Quicken repaired ACCT_131b1 account. No action required."

The odd thing is nowhere is that account visible, hidden or otherwise, and in fact highly unlikely I would ever name an account like that. The first run found an account with similar name that was hidden, but didn't have any transactions.

Any ideas how to find and/or delete it, should I be concerned?

    Hello @robertmills03255,

I am sorry about this issue with unfamiliar accounts. Thank you for asking about this here on the Quicken Community.

First, is it the case that the hidden account is being duplicated? Also, where is your current active data file located? You can check this anytime by navigating to File > Show this file on my computer... in the upper menu at the top of the screen. Make sure that the data file is located on your computer and not on an external drive or cloud-based storage service. These locations can cause erratic behavior and even data damage.

I look forward to your response.

    Thank you,

    Quicken Jared

Thanks, the file is absolutely on local drive, was first thing I checked to to make sure it didn't get moved. As for "duplicated", unclear how that could happen, even if it did, I would think I could at least find the account by name that file validation is reporting it under. Using the global search for even a portion of the account name (thinking maybe it was deleted years ago), returned nothing found.

Again, not 100% sure this is a problem but fear index and other items are not 100% correct and are leading to poor performance today or data integrity issues down the road.

UPDATE: did a "super validate" against the file and the account didn't show up, and was also not reported doing a subsequent regular validate. Little odd, but consider it a non-issue if I can trust the process. :)
