Why isn't the equity symbol, by itself, available as a column heading

I upgraded to the Quicken Deluxe to get be able to use Investing option to track portfolios across several accounts.
I want to download and use comparisons, where I need the stock symbol for cross referencing to other data, but it's not an option as a column header. It can show prefixed to Security name on the detail transaction browse...so it obviously can be pulled in.
I searched the community and found a couple of comments on this.
Will it ever be added?...if not, I'm going back to basic Quicken.
...found it is available for reporting...just not on displays...

In the Investing tab / Portfolio views, a column named Ticker Symbol is available and can be added to the list using the Customize dialog.
