Memorized Transactions - broken functionality

This happened several months ago. When I enter a transaction for a payee that already exists in the list (of memorized transactions) AND 2) had in the past a split transaction, it will let me select only a split transaction, which is useless most of the times. In other cases, the category is blank altogether. Showing only a split transaction is really a very poor choice because 1) even if I want to enter a split transaction, I rarely use the very same split, and 2) when I enter a transaction I use the keyboard and now I need to use the mouse to get rid of the split transaction.
Please restore the old functionality.

    I'm guessing, some bug may have stepped all over your Memorized Payee List (MPL) and is now causing these problems.
    I recommend you try the following and see if this helps ...

    Rebuild MPL

    After creating a backup of your Quicken data file …
    To rebuild the Memorized Payee List from existing transactions, click Tools, hold down Shift and CTRL, then click Memorized Payee List.
