How Do You Reset or Correct Matching Across Accounts?

DRU84 Member
Is there a way to reset downloads or matching to get Quicken to start bank account transactions with credit card payments?

We have had Quicken for Mac for years over several versions and there is lots of payee and category data that probably needs to be manually edited. Is there some way to reset payees to fix matching. Some transactions automatically get flagged as transfers and others do not. We can manually fix, but that is not the best process.

For best results manually enter transfer transactions into your register BEFORE you download transactions from the bank which contain the transfer confirmations. For recurring transfers use scheduled reminders and enter them a day or two before the due date.  (This also includes Cash Withdrawals if you record them as transfers from Checking to a Cash account register)
Be sure to use distinct Payee Names for each transfer / credit card payment to avoid confusing Quicken - memorized payee entries.
That takes the guesswork out of the download process. Because a correctly entered transfer transaction already exists in your account registers, the download process should just match the downloaded transfer transaction to the existing one in both accounts.
If, for some reason it can't do that, you can still drag the downloaded transaction over the manually recorded transfer transaction to effect a match.

    Thank you!

I like the part about distinct names. I will try that by deleting in Payee category and starting new.

Too many transactions across too many people across too many accounts for manual entry. An easy workflow we have is to download and then search transactions based on payment amounts from receipts. Search time last 30 to 60 days. Find the match and mark as reviewed. Going back to manual would sting a bit.

Anyway to have downloads show up automatically as "Not Cleared"
