How to I make a new category in the Business expense list
Dale Albers
I recently updated Quicken from 2005 to the windows subscription I only use Quicken I only use Quicken to report Business transactions and do not have any rental properties. The problem I run into is that every time I try to add a new category it gets added to personal expense or income with no clear way of changing them over to Business being my Business is a farm I can not just use the base Business expense and income categories.

The Category Group, Personal vs. Business income/expense, is set when you select the Tax Line Item for the category. A business category must use a tax line item from Schedule C and must be marked as Tax related category.
For Farm tax line items use Schedule F from the Extended Line Item List.
