Stuck at "Checking Stock Splits"

Hello,
I am having major problems exporting from Windows to Mac. (Both version are most up to date.)
Whether I am validating or super validating on the Windows PC, or importing and using the built in conversion tool on the MAC, the process gets at the end when the dialog reads "Checking Stock Splits". I've tried a the suggestions I've found here with no luck ("delete price history", etc.). Can someone give me some advice on how to proceed? These are 30 years of data so starting from scratch isn't something I am keen to do.
Thanks
