Deleting Categories [from budget, Q Mac]

Can i delete categories and subcategories from mt 2023 budget without causing them to disappear in previous budgets?

    Don't think of it as "delete", but more "Show or Hide" when you are selecting categories to display in a budget.

    But, yes, if you choose to not track (hide) a category in your current 2023 budget, said category will also be no longer tracked in your older budget years. But, you can always "Edit Categories" (in any prior/current years) to redisplay whatever you were tracking in the past. The data isn't lost, but merely hidden. 

    Yes, you can "Duplicate" a budget (From the Budget Menu) to leave the old well enough alone and branch a new copy of your old budget that you can edit without affecting older budgets. But, tread carefully with that approach;  you end up with multiple budgets which may or may not be good for you. It depends on your situation.
