How should I start from scratch?

I have not used my quicken software for quite a while, and account numbers have changed, etc. I want to start over from the beginning.
I have tried this before, but my current bank or credit card balance seems to mess up my accounting whenever I update it online. How do I eliminate this from happening? Thank you.
I am using a MAC, IOS version Ventura 13.1

File:New, and choose the "Start From Scratch" option. This will create a brand new data file.

I do not follow the "I have tried this before. . . mess up my accounting" means. But, the above should start you with a new data file as if you have never used Quicken.

Your old file still exists if you ever have to go back to it. File:Open Recent.
