Show saving goal transactions - balance shows inflated amount when unchecked

I have been using Quicken Deluxe for several years now and have spent a lot of time trying to figure out why my amounts are different on one checking account when I deselect the 'show saving goal transactions in registers & reports' option. When deselecting the option the reported amount is inflated $796.34 over the true balance of the checking account. There is only [one] $1,000 savings goal tied to that account. The account has a true balance $1,464.32 but when I deselect the check box the amount of $2,260.66 is displayed.
