How to Add Inherited Securities?

I have securities that I inherited that have been transferred to my brokerage account. I know the basis (it is adjusted to the date of passing) which I can enter but obviously I cannot deduct the cost of the equity purchase from my brokerage account. I can't seem to find a way to enter the security. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Why not do an Add - Shares Added transaction?

Will give it a try. Quicken added those placeholders for the equities, so I assume i will just cancel them?

Placeholders are temporary transactions that Quicken generates.  They need to be resolved.  Deleting them will do that.
If Quicken will not allow you to delete them you will need to enter the Add Shares transactions at least 1 day prior to the Placeholders.  Once that is done Quicken should allow you to delete the Placeholders.
