This topic has been posted for a year now, and I have not seen any resolution. After entering my credentials, it asks whether I want to be receive a text or call to my cell phone. Regardless of my choice, I get a recorded message from "Microsoft" that does not provide a code. Is this being addressed?

Yes, regardless of selection choice (text or call), I receive a phone call rather than a text. The phone call message does not provide the verification code, yet a code is what the Quicken connection wizard requires. Therefore there is no way to connect to CarMax Auto Finance.

While they're working on it, have you tried turning off 2FA to fall back to a regular ID and password method?

If that's not possible, I recommend you deactivate your car loan account from downloading.
At the Carmax website authorize them to make automatic monthly debits from your checking account on the due date.
In Quicken use a Scheduled Reminder, created by the loan account setup process, to record your monthly payment. You may have to make minor adjustments to the amount of principal and interest deducted each month, based on the loan statement details.
