How to keep report 'as is' when returning from register

Every year at tax time I run a quicken report of the prior year to review my transactions. I recategorize some by clicking on the transaction (in the report), which takes me to the register, where I input a new category and press enter to save it. When I return to the report (by clicking on it at the bottom of the screen), it does not show me the report as I left it - for example, the expense category (Apartment) is collapsed and I have to reopen it to continue my review of my transactions. I want to come back to my report exactly where I left it - same page, same collapsed/uncollapsed sections, etc. Is there a way to do this? It's very frustrating.
