It's you. Is it an old saved report? If so, it might remedy the situation to re-create the report from scratch, starting with Quicken's built-in report.

Thanks Rocky, cetainly I tried that. Starting fresh. I also tried opening a 8 month old backup file and the same problem. Seems I can run any range I want from 1980 to July 19, 2022, but not to July 20, 2022. currently investigating transaction around that date. and yes I can run 1/1/23 -present.

I'm not sure I'm following.
Is the issue you can choose any date range you want and some chosen date ranges will not produce a report?
Or is the issue you cannot choose some date ranges using custom dates?

Yes,
the issue is I … [Is the issue you] can choose any date range you want and some chosen date ranges will not produce a report?
I cannot run reports that include cetain dates in July 2022 - quicken does not generate them. I have yet to narrow it down to a specific date although it looks to be July 19-25, 2022.

If you haven't done so already, please do the following actions:
• Even if you are on the latest software level already, download and install the latest Mondo Patch file from https://www.quicken.com/support/update-and-mondo-patch-20182019-release-quicken-windows-subscription-product to ensure your Quicken software is up to date and correctly installed.
• Reboot Windows.
• Validate and Supervalidate your Quicken data file.
• If nothing helps, try to restore your Quicken data file from an Automatic or Manual backup taken just prior to the problems first occurring. https://www.quicken.com/support/how-backup-or-restore-your-quicken-data
Validate and Supervalidate instructions
First save a backup file prior to performing these steps
Validate:
• Click File
• Select Validate and Repair File...
• Select Validate File
• If the data file contains investment accounts also select "Rebuild investing lots". If you suspect that a damaged Quotes Price History causes your problems, also select "Correct investing price history" functions "Delete" or "Repair and Rebuild".
• Click OK
• Close the Data Log
• Close Quicken (leave it closed for about 30 secs)
• Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
Super Validate:
• Click File
• Press and hold both CTRL and Shift keys while you click Validate and Repair File...
• Select Supervalidate File
• Click OK
• Close the Data Log
• Close Quicken (leave it closed for about 30 secs)
• Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.1 -

I am trying to re-create a report I ran this morning. That is I think another issue. But while trying to get a report that was missing one dated entry, I found that the Payee name had the memo attached so it was different.
Payee name: KY Amer Water
