Some Category Sections in Budget Do Not Show a Total

When I look at my budget, 2 of my 6 spending sections (ex. house expenses, car expenses, personal expenses..) will show a total for all categies in these sections, but my "income and miscellaneous" sections do not. I can click on the plus sign to the left of "income" or "miscellaneous" and the categories with their expenses will all show, but a total is not displayed. Please help as this has been bothering me for years. I called years ago, and the Quicken person didn't have an answer.
