Fidelity Traditional IRA always shows blue “for review” dot, when there are no entries to review
From the account register’s Actions pulldown, if I run either “Update Transactions” or “Update Quotes Only”, the same blue dot appears beside it back in the accounts list. If I close the account register, reopen it, the dot disappears in the accounts list.
There are three other accounts that update under this Fidelity login and none of them are displaying this issue.
I’ve run “Validate file” and “Super validate file” with no errors other than both show an odd mention of
“[Mon Apr 03 12:28:17 2023]
1 scheduled transactions corrected
Maximum security reference: 49, number of securities: 49.”
It continues to show up no matter how many times I run the validations.
I haven’t scheduled any transactions.
I have deactivated online service and logged back in.
What is causing this problem and what can I do to correct it? Every time Quicken gets an update something goes wrong with my data.

Hi @Shannon M M
Which connection method (direct connect. express web connect, or EWC+) are you using for this account? Have you taken a look at the account's activity through the bank's website to see if there are any recent transactions?
It is possible that the blue dot may be an indication of either a pending transaction, or perhaps an adjustment/update to a scheduled transaction. Get back to us and we'll go from there.

Thanks for your help.
The account is set up with Direct Connect.
There aren't any pending transactions in my online account or at the bottom of the account’s register in Quicken.
The account isn't very active. But transactions download as usual.
The blue dot started after the last Quicken update. I held off doing anything until the next dividend payment to see if it would download as usual and it did. So aside from that validation message, there's no indication of anything pending (and that one is a mystery that Quicken says is corrected every time validation is run).0 -
I thought the blue dot shows for accounts where the preference to AutomayAdd Transactions to Investment Transaction List is enabled. If you have that preference enabled, I would try turning it off.

This is definitely a bug. Even when I update accounts that do not include my investment accounts, three of my investment accounts consistently show the blue dot afterward. I can't find any difference in connection setting between my Ameritrade account and my son's Ameritrade account, but for some reason, his always shows the blue dot afterward while mine does not… so annoying!

@Frankx - Do you have any ideas given my answers to your questions?
@mshiggins - Did you mean "Automated Transactions"? (Voice-to-text, m'right? LOL!) The only thing resembling an automated transaction, it an entry I made for the future interest date in a manually entered I-Bond account, an entirely different account. (There was a blue line under it indicating that it was a future transaction.) I removed this transaction. But the problem remains.
@JimSik - Did you contact Quicken support with your problem to report it? If so, what did they say? (I hesitate to do it because it has always resulted in steps that destroy existing data.)0 -
I HAVE SAME ISSUE FOR FEW MONTHS NOW.
""
"After a one-click update, the blue dot appears next to a IRA account. The dot in the account list disappears after I open the account. In the updates section at the bottom of the account’s register, there are no entries in the “Download Transactions”, “Bill and Income Reminders”, or “Placeholder Entries”.
I have been using Qkn Desktop Deluxe for 20 years. This looks like a BUG to me.2 -
Thanks Glob. I can't believe we're alone in this. Will stand by for a work-around for a bit longer. But then I'll have to contact customer servive. The last time I did that, I had to re-enter everything! So it's the last option.0

If I click on the blue dot when it appears (but should not) it shows me "'0 downloads Jan 0, 1900'". Others with same issue discuss at link below (note: Validating or repairing files does NOT help). There is a workaround that some users have discovered within "Edit account details".

Thanks for the lead. I didn't find the option for changing the tracking method in my app. But I did try turning Automatic Entry off to see if that would do the trick. But that alone didn't do it.
When I moved on to trying, once again to deactivate the account and got the message "there are downloaded transactions that must first be accepted into the account register or transaction list", I ran a search on that and found the solution:
https://www.quicken.com/support/quicken-says-there-are-transactions-accept-i-do-not-see-any
The phantom downloaded transactions DO appear in the register under Downloaded Transactions after turning off Automatic entry. After accepting them, it took a very long time to run the OSU once again. (I checked the Online Center as well, but there were no transactions appearing there.)
After this process the blue dot disappeared.2 -
Thanks Shannon - your suggestion of turning off auto-entry (per link) worked for me as well !1
