What is the difference? If I have receipts that need to be reimbursed or acted upon is it better to use the Action field or the Tag field? Just curious.

You can create reports that only include transactions that have specific Tags. I don't think you can do that with the Action field.

I don't use either one currently, but if I did want to use one I would use tags. Many of my downloaded transactions already have something in the Action field, generally things like "DEBIT" or "PAYMENT" or "DEPOSIT"; the Tags field is empty.

As Jon says, tags can be used to filter and organize reports. Actions cannot. They are essentially like an alternative Memo field that sometimes gets automatically filled by the downloaded transaction. Also, transactions can have multiple tags, but only one Action. Personally, I use the Action field to record the method of payment, for example, PayPal, Vitual card, etc. so that info doesn't clog up the Memo field.
