Quicken not allowing the updating of cost basis of stocks from Etrade

Reinstalled quicken and added the account again. Downloaded the investment transactions for 2023 ok however cannot enter the cost basis of the stocks anymore in order to determine gains and losses.

    can you please explain more?

    if you are downloading the 2023 transactions, then the purchases and sale transactions will affect the cost basis.

    do you have the correct share balances now? or are some of those transactions from prior to 2023, which may be affecting the cost basis.

    is this an IRA account? if so, cost basis really isn't important.
