Financial Institutions that offer Direct Connect
Great news to learn that with the R49.33 release of Q' for Windows we can now select either Direct Connect or Express Web Connect when both are available. To make this an even better upgrade, I'd like to see the complete list of Financial Institution's that offer the Direct Connect option. How do we get this done?

You have that list already in the fidir.txt file located at C:/ProgramDAta/Quicken/Inet/Common/Localweb/Banklist/2019
It is a hidden file, so you will need to turn on the option to see hidden files in Windows.
Open the file with a spreadsheet program (it is a tab separated file) and look in the 9th column for "DIRECT" in it, there are separate columns for the different download methods.
DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES TO THE FILE AND TRY TO SAVE THEM, YOU COULD MESS THINGS UP BADLY. IT IS PROBABLY BEST TO MAKE A COPY OF THE FILE AND WORK WITH THE COPY.

The FIDIR.TXT file is not a reliable source, as a number of banks are in the process dropping DC but the file has not yet been fully updated to reflect that.

True, but it is the best thing a user has access to that provides that information. The webpage they used to advertise was never correct or up-to-date.

All agreed, but FIDIR.TXT can lure people to a bank which might drop DC the next day. Contacting a prospective bank may or may not provide accurate information.
