New Budget with Existing Category Balances Starting Current Month

I'm migrating from YNAB to Quicken. I have a pre-existing budget with categories that have accumulated (rolled over) balances that I need to enter. I think I can do that, but it's May 2023 and I would Quicken to ignore any transactions before the May as they are already reflected in the rollover balances.
ie. I don't want to have to go back to January and backfill values if it can be avoided.
So, can I create a new budget starting in May, but after 2023, have it go from Jan to Dec ( the default? ).
I'm using Quicken Deluxe for Windows vR49.33.
