Why won't Quicken restore a backup file

Version R49.33 - Build 27.1.49.33

I have Quicken installed on my desktop computer and a lap top computer and have been able to restore a backup on my laptop on a regular basis. If I take my laptop on a trip I want to have Quicken available to use.

Today, I accessed Quicken on my laptop and tried to restore the data file from Dropbox. Quicken stated: "unable to process your request. Try again later" I tried a restore from a flash drive and received the same message.

I rebooted the laptop, opened Quicken and tried again but received the same message , not only from Dropbox but from the flash drive. Any ideas why I can't restore a backup?

Instead of restoring a Quicken backup file, I would suggest just copying the backup file from Dropbox to the laptop. Change the file extension from .QDF-backup to .QDF and double click to open.

Thanks so much for the reply. I'm obviously having a stupor of thought and my mind is mush this morning. Once I copy the backup file from Dropbox, how do I get it into Quicken?
