How do I restore an investment account from an old backup?
My investment account was migrated to a different company, in the process I accidentally deleted the original account in Quicken (a few weeks ago), and so lost all my transaction history (20+ years). It is important that I recover this, just for the history.
What is the most efficient way to recover the my Quicken transaction history from an older backup and restore it to my latest (only the specific investment account in the backup).
I have tried pruning an old backup of everything but investment account, and then exporting to QXF, which I then import into my latest. It almost works (all transactions are imported), but seems the balanced are all whacked showing positions I no longer have (original backup show correct positions). Not sure what I did wrong there…
Your help is greatly appreciated, thanks.
