Causes current open quicken file. to duplicate totally destroy your data. luckily you can open an uncorrupted file and you are good to go. This happens consistently when I download an update. It's scary I'm getting used to it.

has anyone out experience this issue?

No, absolutely no issues after updating at any time (currently on Windows 11, R50.8). I would suspect computer or dataset corruption.

There are always posts after each version patch is issued about the upgrade patch causing data or other issues. Most of the super users here won’t apply upgrade patches when they are first issued and will wait to apply when they feel the patch is not causing problems that would impact their use of Quicken.

If you want to control when upgrade patches are applied, set your Windows UAC (user account control) to prompt you if any program change is happening. You can then decide if you want to block or allow the program change.
