Paycheck reminder entering old values - buffering?

For context I upgraded recently to R50.8.

I just edited my paycheck reminder to reflect current witholdings / tax, for the first time since the upgrade, and when i tried entering the reminder, somehow it's entering the old values without my edits. I tried various obvious tricks - notably first restarting Quicken and then restarting the PC - but each time it still just enters the old value. Also after entry, the reminder doesn't move forward to the next paycheck date.

Anyone seen anything like this? it seems like a new bug with the new version. I don't recall what version I was on before this upgrade.
