Does the software itself open and is it functional? Or is the software itself not functional?

If you can create a new QDF file (File > New Quicken file) and use it, then the software is functional so there is some issue with your main QDF file. If the software is functional, please explain exactly what happens/what you see when you try to open your main QDF file so we can explore some troubleshooting steps you might want to take. Taking a screenshot and posting it here would be helpful to understanding your situation better.

If you cannot create a new functional QDF file then your Quicken.ini file is no longer compatible with Quicken's requirements. There are quite a few posts about this in this Community but unless you have an older copy of the Quicken.ini file (from an older computer or from an prior system backup) that you can use to replace the Quicken.ini file your QWin 2017 is currently set up to use it is likely you will not get your QWin 2017 to work. There is an informative (but lengthy) thread about this that you can read if you want to at:

If your Quicken has this Quicken.ini file issue and if you do not have an older functional Quicken.ini file that you can use to replace the one that is currently being used, then your only option to access your main QDF file is to upgrade to Quicken Subscription.

You can no longer create new files with pre-subscription versions that use the Quick ID. Those versions include QW2017.

You may be able to open an existing QDF file with a new installation of QW2017, provided you have the quicken.ini file from your prior working installation.

@mshiggins - I had not heard that new data files can no longer be created with the pre-subscription Quicken ID versions of QW2014-QW2017. That would be a logical assumption to make. Has this been confirmed?
