Sharing Files between Quicken Mac and Quicken Windows
I just assumed the paymaster position for a non profit volunteer organization. The organization procedure was to have the paymaster input the day to day transactions and once per month send the qdf file to the CFO for review and analysis. I am a MAC user and have purchased the Quicken for MAC deluxe version 7.04. The CFO is on a Quicken for Windows platform. I have sent him the quicken file but it does not work with his windows version. Is there a way to work together using the different platforms?

Not really. The Quicken Mac and Quicken Windows programs are different, and the file formats are not interchangeable. There is a conversion utility for migrating Quicken Windows data to Quicken Mac, and a less-solid utility for the opposite direction — but both are intended for one-way trips, not ongoing back and forth.
That said…
a) You could try reporting from Quicken Mac to QXF format, and having the CFO then create a new file and import the QXF file into Quicken Windows. If you have no investment accounts, and aren't going back and forth, this may work well enough to be usable.
b) Is it possible the CFO needs a few reports to review and analyze — reports which you could create in Quicken Mac and send to the CFO as either PDF reports of CSV spreadsheet files? In other words, can the CFO work with report data rather than the native Quicken data file?

Agreewith @jacobs - moving back and forth between Win and QMacis not practical.
An option you might consider is for you to run QWin on your Mac - e.g., using Parallels and Windows.
You could continue with Mac for prtsomaluse and use Win for the non-profit.
