Silent failure of VANGUARD downloads

I have a 401k with Vanguard and I try to track it in Quicken for Windows. The account is set up for Direct Connect and I have an automated weekly One Step Update. The Schwab download is highly unreliable; for example, it never downloaded the April and June month-end transactions although it downloaded all the May ones. I never get an error code, just silent failures!

Apologies: I originally typed Schwab becuase I started remembering an EARLIER problem!
