Quicken doesn't remember my "Do not link account" choice, et al.

Really two issues… both very annoying!
I have multiple accounts with the same bank (USAA to be specific) and I have two Quicken files. One for me and my family and one for a family trust. In one of these files I have linked all but one of my USAA accounts and in the other file I have linked the remaining bank account.
Every time I open the Trust file (only every few weeks) I must reauthorize my bank account. For all the accounts that I do NOT want to link I have to select "Do not link" — i.e. it does NOT remember this choice from before. This seems pretty lame!
Now, invariably, within a day or so of doing this, when I go back to the Quicken file that I use daily, I must reauthorize with USAA and relink all my USAA accounts! It seems that Quicken (for Mac) has some strong affinity to only working well in this area using a single Quicken file.
This seems to me like a major design flaw!
If anyone who stumbles onto this post knows a solution to my issues, I would appreciate a hint!!
