Categories spontaneously added to reports

When producing transaction reports, once the report is generated, selecting the category list to edit categories will cause some unselected categories to be spontaneously selected, requiring redoing all categories – wasting time.

This problem existed since I started using Quicken in 2007, through upgrades from basic, to premium, to Home and Small Business versions, past multiple updates, and several different computers – so the problem must be inherent in the software.
