I tried to start Quicken for Windows today and got an error that said something about Quicken can't run and had to download and install WebView2Runtime.

I downloaded it and installed it and keep getting the same error each time I try to Run Quicken.

Any help would be nice

Thanks

There have been several posts lately with this same issue. I thought the program looked familiar, so I checked the installed programs in Windows and I found this -

I am not certain if this has anything to do with the issue, but it looks like a new version was installed recently.

After several tries to get Quicken to run I got a message that Windows Defender was blocking the install of "WebView2".

After allowing it to install Quicken worked just fine.

    Hope this helps others

Window edge running fine. Downloaded and installed webview2 but Quicken does not recognize it. No option to fall back or continue just cancel and it shuts down quicken. Updates should not brick the software.

for these Windows users - is there anything more you can share about your Win10/11 setup… something that might be a trigger or problem for this situation?
There are other threads for Canadian users, and for MAC users with Windows emulators.

Same issue installs but get error when run quicken - "Quicken can't open because WebView2 Runtime is not installed - Win 10" when I tried to install on new machine as my old one crashed. Tried on another machine and same so not a problem with Windows. Worked with customer support yesterday and today and wasted time. Hope this gets fixed soon.

Same issue. I discovered that my Windows Defender was stopping it from being installed. Once I ok'd it it installed fine
