Quicken will not open my files including backup files

A few days ago, I tried to open my older version of Quicken (2017 I think) and a popup came up saying that there was a problem opening Quicken. I called support and I bought a new version of Deluxe and attempted to install it. After installation, I attempted to open it and it appeared to open normally. My register came up for about a second and then the Quicken sign-in page appeared. Couldn't open anything even though the File button worked. I have completely removed the program with the firewall turned off but I still get the same result. The program will run on my laptop but when I attempt to open a backup file from a SD card I get the same results. I have lost all of my history. HELP!!
