Strange status with Log in - COSTCO Visa Anywhere (July 2023)
Issue = unable to update Costco Visa account details in Quicken for Win. Getting CC-502 errors since mid-June.
Attempts to pin down causes:
- Technical Issue when tried to verify COSTCO Visa on CITI BANK portal using Edge browser in Win 11 Pro OS
- Started a chat session that included 'try another browser' suggestion. On Mac OS Ventura 13.5 and Safari Browser, the same login credentials were SUCCESSFUL
- Chat session help handed it over to Citi Bank Tech Support (Online Issues; Windows OS; asked to update Edge). No change in access problems. Asked to try after 24 hrs.
Question: I have never encountered a situation where log in to an account is OS dependent. Has this been seen by others?

I suggest you do the following:
- Make a backup of your data file.
- Then deactivate your Costco credit card.
- After deactivating, set up the account with the Citi Cards link instead of the Citibank link.
The Citibank link has a long connection reliability issues history. It also sets up the account with the EWC connection method which is more problematic, less secure and much slower than the DC connection method.
Setting up with Citi Cards will provide you with the DC connection method and it is much faster and more secure than EWC.
I changed my Costco Visa CC to the Citi Cards link a couple of years ago and have been very happy with its reliability and update speed (just 3-5 seconds).

Replying to Boatnmaniac (SuperUser): Attaching sequential screen captures (within last 15 mins) following your suggested steps. I would appreciate if you could comment on anything missing in compliance:
Thank you.

@Smart_VAH - I deleted one of the screen shots you posted because it included some confidential information (UserID) that I don't think you meant to post here.
The 1st screen shot shows you attempted to set up the account with the Citi Cards link that I'd suggested you try. Did you do what was mentioned during that set up process to get your online account linked to Quicken? What happened then?
The other 3 screen shots you provided were for a different setup link: For Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi rather than Citi Cards. I should have mentioned earlier that this Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi setup link also tries to connect with the same EWC connection to the very same Citibank.com URL that has been so very problematic.
I recommend not using either the Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi or Citibank set up links for your Costco CC. Instead, use the Citi Cards link and complete the online linking process that was mentioned by Quicken during the setup process.

@Boatnmaniac First off, thank you for being alert to my oversight in posting 'that' content! Subsequently, I had already tried your steps exactly (not uploaded; using Citi Cards link), all of which resulted in CC-502 error. This was due to being unable to log in to my Citi Bank portal on Edge browser of Win 11 system. Therefore, I thought that the link I chose was synonymous with your suggestions (bad hypothesis).
b) I had a detailed chat session on this aspect with Citi Bank tech support which did not yield any resolution. Hence my posting of the question/issue for greater validation.
c) I want to add an update that essentially forced me to change the password (forget password option on the portal; several hours after my posting, both Safari and Edge failed to allow login). With this completed, the new password was successfully used to enable One Step Update after modifying Account Details/Setup.
d) While the end result was successful, the perplexing status of OS dependent login has not clarified one bit! I tag this to the vagaries of computers/software/dBase management in Citi Bank domain - I doubt if I will ever get to the bottom of this issue. Thank you.
