What can I do to ensure that data is not corrupted?


I have been using Quicken since 1996. Recently, the data corruption that I have experienced has been horrible. This nightmare began when Quicken would no longer automatically enter bills that I asked to enter automatically.

I was told to do an export to a new file and do a super validate.

Well, when I opened this up, I had to reconnect all my online accounts. As always, the first time I do that, Quicken decided to change the opening balances on some of my accounts.

Then I had a PayCheck that I entered and when I restarted, the PayCheck was GONE, but the transfers into my other accounts were still there. When I click on the transfers and say show the matching transaction, it says it can't be found.

Then I manually entered the PayCheck again, and when I reconcile, one of the transfers appears in my register but not in the Reconcile screen.

It seems that there is so much data corruption that it is taking me forever to fix this.

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or what, but I don't understand WHY Quicken is so crappy right now.
