Quicken was not designed for any kind of "networked/multiple users" situation and trying to run it in that fashion can easily lead to problems.

You've not provided any detail here behind your question so it's impossible to respond in any meaningful fashion. Have you always been using Quicken and something has changed, or have you moved from some other accounting/reporting situation to Quicken?

Of course Quicken is "real time" only to the extent that you (or somebody) is able to make manual entries into Quicken as transactions occur. Information that comes from downloading information from financial institutions isn't "real time" as there's always a processing lag of a day, or more.
