Initial deposit transaction

I am starting a new Quicken account. When I put in my initial deposit and attempt to divide it into categories, it looks beautiful. It is saved and backed-up. But when I close Quicken and re-open it, all the categories have been changed to "adjustment." It happens every time.

Any suggestions?

    That's weird.
    Normally, you create a new account and it contains an Opening Balance transaction with $0.00
    The next transaction is your initial deposit, normally a transfer from another account or a Cash account.

    Can you show us a snapshot image of the register view with all transactions including the fully categorized transaction before it gets changed?
    Please be sure to have the Transfer column added to the account register view.
    That might help explain what's going on here.
